Your ticket covers entry to the performance of The Lives of Others at the Adelphi Theatre — Robert Icke's staging performed live by the company, with design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting by Jon Clark, sound by Giles Thomas and original music by Max Richter. Food and drink are not included.
Age Recommendations
The production is suitable for a general audience aged 14 and above, and under-14s will not be admitted. Everyone aged 16 or younger must be accompanied by an adult and cannot be seated alone in the auditorium. All patrons, regardless of age, must have their own ticket. Please note the production includes flashing lights, strobe effects, smoke or haze and pyrotechnics throughout.
Best Time to Attend
The Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2:30 pm are the calmer option and the easier one to build a day around. Evening performances at 7:30 pm draw a fuller house — and for a play this quiet and this tense, a packed auditorium is part of the experience. The run is strictly limited to 9 January 2027, so the closing weeks will be the hardest to get into.

The Adelphi has bars and toilets across its levels, open before the performance and during the interval, and a cloakroom in the main foyer. The Strand and Covent Garden sit immediately outside the door, so there are pubs, brasseries and food halls within a few minutes' walk for pre-show dining. Food and drink bought elsewhere may not be brought into the auditorium.
Accessibility
The main entrance on the Strand has a single 15 cm step into the foyer, and a ramp is available on request; from the foyer, access to the Stalls is step-free. Up to four wheelchair or scooter users can transfer into aisle seats in the Stalls, with two dedicated non-transferable wheelchair spaces in row X and further transfer positions at either side of row J. There are no customer lifts to the Dress Circle or Upper Circle, both of which are reached by stairs. An infra-red audio enhancement system is available, with headsets and hearing loops collected from the cloakroom in the main foyer, and assistance dogs are welcome.
